Alex Steele has been awarded a Visiting Professorship with ULAB, the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh, in recognition of the work he has conducted there with Professor Carolyn Roberts over the last two years. Alex’s work has focused on the promotion of active learning and education for sustainable development (ESD), working with staff and students from all of ULAB’s faculties.

The university is based in Dhaka, and the institution has taken a lead in Bangladesh in exploring and implementing new and innovative modes of teaching and learning, alongside the launch and growth of their own Institute for Sustainable Development. Bangladesh faces a wide range of environmental and social challenges, with particular emphasis on identifying solutions to combat climate change and poverty.
