There is no denying the fact that in the history of Bangladesh, the three chronological events are well thought-out to raise our heads worldwide as the citizens of a free nation in all sectors of development. After a long and magnificent movement for nine months; our nation’s glory and honour has symbolized our growth of economy, social and cultural ambiance in her background to be emerged as an independent state. In my opinion, besides Liberation War and 21st February, the Nobel Peace Prize awarding event has also endorsed the prestige and high honour of our country through out the world. Such unparalleled historical event has unquestionably amplified the earth-shattering of Bangladesh in respect of our history, geography, financial system, tradition, heritage and ethnicity and as such we are in the way to build up our resources so that we can expect more Nobel laureate signifying history for mankind.

Suffice it to say that the movement of 21st February was a call for restoration of democracy for which the non-co-operation movements with the then rulers have been promulgated day by day to achieve independence as an ultimate target. Due to the fact, it was not only their sole desire to make Urdu as a state language but also there were many reasons behind it which may be reflected as Political and educational aggression, to pollute Socio-economic condition, to pollute cultural and traditional affairs, to occupy monopolies over trade and commerce, to handicap people under obligation towards submission, to surpass the people under tyrannous depletion etc and hence in regard to economical aspects in common life, the goods which were produced by our painstaking people from our land and factories were taken to the West Pakistan and priced cheaply in that land but it was costly to us to consume. From such agitation, our movement for independence had been picked up the pace day by day.

From such point, it is clear that after the emergence of Bangladesh such profile of economy either Micro or Macro has been achieved due to active intervention of our people in different sectors of development. This identity whatever we posses were not possible if 21st February was not created to retaliate the tyrannical boom of the then rulers of Pakistan. And as such, in this day some young persons of our country have declared indomitable movement to create confrontation against the conspiracy of our mother tongue. They have intensified the movement by degrees and being polemical, the then rulers have invaded them and ultimately they had shot them dead.

These are also the very qualities that you will find in the beautiful country of Bangladesh.

1.) Catch a glimpse of the Tigers

Tigers, specifically the Royal Bengal Tigers, are magnificent creatures, with their proud and noble bearings and beautifully patterned coats. Watching these tigers gives us a sense of excitement and danger all rolled into one. It’s too bad that they’re endangered, but still, in Bangladesh, you can see these beautiful creatures by visiting the Sundarbans National Park.

2.) Fun in the Sun and Sand

If you’re looking for beautiful blue beaches to sunbathe, to swim, or to simply walk around in, then you must go to Bangladesh’s Kuakata. Kuakata is a beach resort that has been recently developed. It is located in the southern part of Bangladesh, but the sea isn’t the only thing this place offers though, because in Kuakata, you can also observe the culture of the Rakhane Tribe.

3.) World’s Longest and Broadest Beach

If any old beach just doesn’t cut it, why don’t you try going to Inani beach found in the South of Bangladesh. It is the world’s longest and broadest beach and is found in Cox’s Bazar. Inani Beach, however, is not as developed as the other beaches such as Patenga, so if you want all the tourist perks, then it’s probably best if you just go to Patenga

4.) Boating through Bangladesh

If you’re in the mood for boating through the rivers and observing the lush jungles in Bangladesh, then you could try going the Sunderbands National Park. This is a park with several beautiful areas which can only be accessed by using a row boat. If you’re lucky, you’ll also see some of its beautiful wildlife.

5.) Try some Fresh Water

If you’re tired of the salty waters of Bangladesh’s beaches, why don’t you try going to the Rangamati Hill district where the Kapati Lake is located? There, you can indulge in several activities such as swimming, sailing, and fishing. The Kapati Lake is an ideal destination for anyone who likes peaceful outings rather than busy and noisy ones.

6.) Cleanse your Soul with Some Tea

People who don’t like the strong taste of coffee usually prefer the much smoother and cleaner taste of tea. So, if you’re a tea fan, you certainly can’t miss going to Sylhet, located just North of Dhaka. Sylhet is known for its tea-growing traditions, and Srimongol, a place in Sylhet, is the center of the tea gardens in Sylhet.

7.) Games up!

If you want to satiate your sporty side and get away from nature a bit, why not head on to the City Stadium? There, you can enjoy a game of hockey, football, and cricket. You might even get a chance to play with the locals in the playgrounds if you so choose.

8.) Go Bird Watching

If you want to see a sample of Bangladesh’s exotic wildlife, why not go to Rajendrapur National Park, located just 31 miles north of the capital city. Bring your binoculars with you, maybe even your camera and take a few snapshots of the beautifully colored birds residing in the area.

9) Take a walk in the Zoo

Unfortunately, being constantly on the move to look for various animals can be slightly tiring. And there’s always the chance that you’ll get disappointed at the end of the day because of the poor turnout. If you don’t like taking this risk, why not just go to the National Zoo located at Mirpur near the River Turag?

10) The City of Mosques

If you’re going to Bangladesh, you absolutely can’t miss going to Dakha, the city of Mosques. The wonderful architecture and designs are to die for. Visit Baitul Mukkaram Mosque, the Star Mosque, and the Chawkbazar Mosque, and you’ll be sure to gape in awe at the magnificent designs.

Bangladesh has only been an independent country since 1971, but geologists estimate that the area has been inhabited for over four thousand years based on archeological finds in the country. With this long history, the people and culture of the country is unique and rich.

One of the first known events that happened in the area that today is called Bangladesh was in the fourteenth century, when the Bengal people were conquered by Timur. In the 1500s, Bobur, one of Genghis Khan’s descendants, conquered the land, bringing the Mughal Empire to the area. This stage in the country’s history brought Islam to the forefront of the religious mindset.

Bengal was divided along religious lines in 1947. The eastern part of the area became East Bengal and part of Pakistan. The western area became part of India. Britain no longer controlled the country.

East Bengal, which later was renamed East Pakistan, never functioned well as a part of Pakistan. The people were not happy with being controlled by the Pakistani upper class. The Bengali-speaking population of the area signed a petition for autonomy in the 1960s, but the Pakistani government ignored it. Tensions mounted, until a huge cyclone destroyed the coast of the area in 1970. When the Pakistani government did not respond well, the people rebelled. After a long, bloody revolution, East Bengali won its independence and chose the name Bangladesh.

Sheikh Mujib was the first leader of the country. He was assassinated in 1975 after establishing socialist rule in the country. The three months after his assassination were bloody and confusing, but soon General Ziaur Rahman took power and established a multi-party government. He was also assassinated in 1981. He was followed by Hossain Mohammad Ershad, who ruled for eight years. After his reign, the current parliamentary democratic republic was established.

In December of 2004 an undersea earthquake caused a huge tsunami to crash onto the coast of Bangladesh. Thousands of people were killed as a result of this wave. Bangladesh is still recovering from the devastation caused by this recent natural disaster.

If you are planning a trip to Bangladesh, there are certain attractions that you simply must see. These attractions will make your trip worthwhile and give you a real sense of the people and nature that makes Bangladesh such a welcoming location to visit. Since you will probably base your trip out of Dhaka, Bangladesh’s capital city, be sure to spend some time exploring its attractions. While in Dhaka, you will want to shop at the Dhaka Markets, where you can buy discounted clothing and leather goods. Be prepared to haggle on the price, though! The National Museum, National Zoo and Dhaka Botanical Gardens are all popular with Dhaka visitors. Be sure to visit the zoo, because it is the best place to see the country’s tigers up close.

If you would prefer to see nature in its natural habitat, visit Rejandrapur National Park, which is about 50 km to the north of Dhaka. This park is the perfect destination for birdwatchers, so be sure to take along your binoculars when you visit. Sundarbans National Park is another place that is popular with nature lovers. Here you can see Royal Bengal Tigers, spotted deer, birds, and monkeys in their national habitats. Sundarbans is the largest mangrove forest in the world, and you can take an organized tour led by the Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation if you visit during the winter months.

Bangladesh has its fair share of historic buildings to explore. One building that dates back to the time that the British controlled the land is Curzon Hall. Old High Court is another popular architectural and historic landmark in the country, and it is considered an excellent example of the architecture of the European Renaissance.

Of course, Bangladesh is known for its beaches, and at the southernmost point of the country you can find Kuakata, a new beachside resort. This resort is located near the Rakhane tribes, so it is a great choice for those who want to see what the traditional culture of Bangladesh is like. It is also a great location to view both the sunset and sunrise.

Inani Beach is the world’s longest beach, and it is located in Cox’s Bazar. This is the tourist Mecca of the country, and here you can shop local artisans who sell their wears along the road. The main beach that tourists visit is Patenga, so if you are looking to avoid crowds, visit one of the others. Regardless of what you do while you are in Banglandesh, visiting these popular attractions will make your stay worthwhile and ensure that you come back with great memories and wonderful photographs.

Bangladesh is located in the low-lying Ganges-Brahmabutra River Delta or Ganges Delta. This delta is formed by the confluence of the Ganges, Brahmabutra and Meghna rivers and their respective tributaries. It is once part of the Indian state of Bengal. Bangladesh occupies part of the north eastern corner of the Indian subcontinent. It is surrounded by India apart from a short boarder with Myanmar and its 580 kilometre coastline. Most of the coastline is not continuous but broken up by the channels of delta. There are many rivers which flow through the delta and end up at the Bay of Bengal in the Indian Ocean. These rivers are the Ganges, Brahmaputra, Meghna etc. The Ganges and the Brahmaputra start in the Himalaya Mountains. In Bangladesh the Ganges is known as the Padma and the Brahmaputra becomes the Jamuna. These rivers drain about 2500000 sq kilometres of land. The land of Bangladesh is very flat and low. The highest point is the hills in the north east and southeast. About 15 percents of land is covered with forests. More than 75 percent of Bangladesh is less than 10 meters above sea level. Bangladesh is the largest delta in the world. The area of Bangladesh is 55126Sq Miles.

Bangladesh is hot and humid in summer and cool in winter. During the monsoon, it rains heavily average rainfall being 136. The climate is characterised by moderately high temperature for about eight months in the year, maximum temperature in summer ranges between 30 and 38, while the minimum during the winter is 9. There were several seasons for the severity of the flooding. Firstly, there were unusually high monsoon rains. Secondly, the Hymalayasshed off an equally unusually high amount of melt water that year. Lastly, trees that usually intercept rain water were cut down for fire wood or to make space for animals.

A new state for an old nation, Bangladesh has a culture that encompasses factors both old and new. The Bangla language boasts a rich literary inheritance, which Bangladesh shares with the Indian state of West Bengal. The earlier literary text in Bangla is the eighth century Charyapada. Bangla literature in the medieval age was often either religious or adjustments from other languages . Bangla literature matured in the nineteenth century. Its greatest icons are the poets Rabindranath Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam. Bangladesh also has a long tradition in folk literature, evidenced by Maimansingha Gitika, Thakurmar Jhuli or stories related to Gopal Bhar.

Cricket is a single of the virtually all mainstream sports in Bangladesh. In 2000, the Bangla Desh cricket team was allowed Test cricket status & joined the elite league of interior teams permitted by the International Cricket Council to play test matches. Other popular sports let in football (soccer), field hockey, tennis, badminton, handball, volleyball, chess, carom, and kabadi, a 7-a-side team-sport played without a ball or even any More equipment, that is the interior sport of Bangladesh. The Bangladesh Sports Control Board regulates 29 different sporting federations.
